Titanic Jazz Band

San Francisco Jazz—the music of Lu Watters, Turk Murphy and Clancy Hayes—is the specialty of the Titanic Jazz Band. Cornetist/leader Dan Comins, reedman Mike Baird and pianist Robbie Rhodes worked with the celebrated South Frisco Jazz Band, which was led by Titanic’s banjoist Vince Saunders. Trombonist Keith Elliott has played with the Jazzin’ Babies and Rosy McHargue and brass bassist Ray Cadd worked with the Frisco Syncopators and Yerba Buena Stompers.

Carl Sonny Leyland Trio with
Chloe Feroranzo April 18

Carl Sonny Leyland, internationally renowned boogie woogie pianist and blues vocalist, has performed around the globe and on film soundtracks (including “A Perfect World” and “The Pelican Brief”). On Apr. 18, his trio will include Wally Hersom (Big Sandy, Deke Dickerson, Campus Five) on bass and AFCDJS President Hal Smith on drums, with the phenomenal Chloe Feoranzo as a guest on reeds. Expect to hear boogie woogie by Ammons, Yancey, Davenport, Lofton plus swing and vintage pop songs.
